Curi has structured underwriting with dedicated teams who specialize in a particular line of business to better meet your needs and those of your clients.
Curi Holdings, Inc. and Constellation, Inc. have officially completed our merger transaction, effective Oct. 1, 2023, and have formed one organization under the brand name Curi. As part of our efforts to create a unified company, we are excited to share with you the updated structure of our Underwriting Department.
We have created two business units – Core Physician Business and Specialty Segments. Each unit will have dedicated teams who specialize in a particular line of business to better meet your needs and those of your clients. Below is a description of the teams along with information about the changes.
SPECIALTY SEGMENTS
This team is led by Derek Gordon and includes the following segments:
Hospitals: led by Deb Cross
Non-Standard Physicians: led by Elke Kirsten-Brauer
Senior Living: led by Regina Hinton
Custom Accounts: led by Tami Phillips, these are accounts with any two of the following requirements:
$1M or more in premium; multi-state; retention of $100k+ or loss-sensitive policies; or utilization of captive funding
Alternatively, any account with premiums greater than $2.5M, regardless of whether any of the conditions above are satisfied
CORE PHYSICIAN BUSINESS
This team is led by Sean Farrelly and includes all admitted physician businesses that do not fall into our Specialty Segments as defined above.
West/Midwest Brokered Business Joel Balgord, leading core physician-brokered business (including Miscellaneous Facilities) in the West/Midwest:
West Brokered Business: led by Jody LaFlamme
Midwest Brokered Business: led by Joel Balgord
East Brokered Business Nancy Durf, leading core physician brokered business in the East/Southeast:
Mid-Atlantic: led by Stacey Fink
Southeast: led by Kim Laney
Direct Physician Business Nancy Durf, leading core direct physician business nationwide:
East/Southeast Direct Business: led by Stephanie Hogg
West/Midwest Direct Business: led by Darcy Beach
Will this org change impact which underwriter I currently work with?
Any new business submissions received on or after April 1, 2024, will be handled by your new underwriter and/or underwriting team. Any renewal business with an effective date of August 1, 2024, and beyond will be handled by your new underwriting team.
How do I know who my underwriter will be and how do I contact them? Your underwriter will be in touch soon to provide you with additional account-level details and underwriter contact information. Until then, please contact me with any questions.
Where should I submit new business? Send submissions to: submissions@curi.com. Submitting to this inbox will trigger a review of the submission to ensure the business is underwritten by the appropriate team.
